Tripotassium phosphate is colorless crystals or white powder. It is soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol.

Solution is alkaline, strong corrosive, and strong moisture absorption.

Tripotassium phosphate can be used as an emulsifier, foaming agent and whipping agent and other food additive. It is a potential antimicrobial agent in poultry processing combined with fatty acids.

Tripotassium phosphate is normally used as a fertilizer to make fertilizer compounds of N, P₂O₅, and K₂O.
