Properties
Sodium hexametaphosphate is white crystalline, white powder, or granular. ,density is 2.484(20°C),easily soluble in water, but not in organic solution, absorbent to dampness, and furn sticky when absorbed dampness in air. Sodium hexametaphosphate is possible to form solvent compound with metallic ions such as Ca, Ba, Mg, Cu and Fe. it is a fine agent for water treatment.
Applications
Sodium hexametaphosphate is used as a sequestering, dispersing, deflocculating agent, and as a coating agent to form a thin passivating film that protects metals from corrosion, industrial water treatment, and can be used in continousously recycled industrial water as a softener.
Sodium hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is used in the textile industry for indutrial cleaning and as dispersion in pigmening and dyeing operations. Sodium hexametaphosphate is also used in oil well drilling..
